Kiev says to stop electric power purchases from Russia on Fri
KIEV, Nov 12 (PRIME) -- Ukraine will fully discontinue electric power imports from Russia on Friday, a spokesperson for power holding Ukrenergo told PRIME Thursday.
On Monday, Energy and Coal Industry Minister Vladimir Demchishin said that Ukraine, which needed Russian power because of capacity shortages due to a temporary halt of a Rivne nuclear power plant unit, can fully stop the imports from Wednesday.
“The last day of imports is today. It was cut to 400 megawatts (MW). Tomorrow Ukraine will have no imports from Russia,” the spokesman said.
